What To Do In NYC In March 2019

Frida Kahlo

(English translation below)

Udstillingen, Frida Kahlo: Appearances Can Be Deceiving, er nemlig sat op på Brooklyn Museum.

Woops Bake shop – 548 Driggs Ave, 11211, Williamsburg, Brooklyn

La Mercerie – 53 Howard St, 10013, SoHo, Manhattan

Maman NYC – Locations i SoHo, Tribeca, The Meatpacking og Greenpoint

Five Leaves – 18 Bedford Ave, 11222, Brooklyn

Two Hands – 164 Mott Street, 10013, Nolita, Manhattan

…Og mange, mange flere!

Translation:

I’m in a great mood on this Saturday. I woke up completely rested, the sun was shining when I went down to the gym, and a run only made my mood even better. Exercise is simply free medicine for the body and soul, you have to remember this, on days you are not motivated to go, haha! Today I want to write a little about what you can do, this month, in New York. The first spring month – how crazy that the winter is already over!

While NYC warms up and moves towards warmer seasons, it’s a great idea to pay a visit to one of the city’s many museums. I like to explore which exhibitions the museums offer each month. This month I was certainly not disappointed. The exhibition, Frida Kahlo: Appearances Can Be Deceiving, is set up at the Brooklyn Museum. The exhibition is the largest Frida Kahlo exhibition in the US for 10 years, and shows her clothes, jewelry, other private items, paintings, drawings, and photographs. What better month to celebrate Frida Kahlo, than Women’s National History Month, it’s nothing less than the perfect timing! You can find tickets and information about the exhibition right here!

It is not a real New York visit, without having seen some type of sport! At least I don’t think so, because the US is synonymous with sports and they especially love their American sports. I live in Brooklyn, so of course I have been cheering for the Brooklyn Basketball team, Brooklyn Nets, and I also think you should go watch a game. The team is located in the Barclays Center and is easily accessible by train from Manhattan. It’s really a great experience to watch a basketball match or any other American sporting event, for that matter. The atmosphere, surroundings, players, popcorn, hot dogs, halftime show and cheerleaders. It all comes together perfectly and is just a fun experience to have. You can see Nets’s games for the rest of March here!

As I have mentioned before, café visits are such a cozy and relaxing thing to do, in my opinion. Therefore, I would like to make a small list of some of my favorite cafes slash hang-out spots, in New York City, that you can visit in the month of March:

Woops Bake shop – 548 Driggs Ave, 11211, Williamsburg, Brooklyn

La Mercerie – 53 Howard St, 10013, SoHo, Manhattan

Maman NYC – Locations in SoHo, Tribeca, The Meatpacking og Greenpoint

Five Leaves – 18 Bedford Ave, 11222, Brooklyn

Two Hands – 164 Mott Street, 10013, Nolita, Manhattan

…And many, many more..
